~ Upcoming CVHA Board of Director elections this October
Ahead of elections for new Comstock Village Homeowners’ Association (CVHA) board members this fall-- I ask each of you take time this summer to seriously consider running for election to join our board. This October three board positions will be up for election; it's critical that homeowners who are dedicated to maintaining and improving the quality of our community join our all-volunteer board. Preserving the strength and continuity of our board is very important. Without a full board, our CVHA runs the risk of not being able to cover all its responsibilities, from resolving covenant issues, to managing our security patrols, to running fall and spring cleanup weeks, to overseeing the maintenance and well being of our common areas, just to name a few. Should CVHA have to hire a property management company due to a diminishing board, the cost of annual homeowner assessments will skyrocket and relationships between homeowners and a new management company is guaranteed to be less congenial than with the current homeowner-represented board. Worst of all our property values and the quality of our community could suffer as a result. Several members who have volunteered for many years on the CVHA board will end their service over the next couple of years. We’re looking for volunteers willing to step up and run for election this fall who are willing to serve their community for a two-year term. No previous board experience is necessary; our board greatly benefits from a wide variety of skill sets and experiences. Obligations of board members include: a two-hour monthly meeting, occasional projects, and responding to homeowner inquires.
If you're interested in learning more, you can email us at infocvha@gmail.com or
contact any current board member directly. Our contact information can be found here https://www.comstockvillagehoa.com/contact. Thank you for your consideration as we strive to keep Comstock Village a great place to live and grow our families!
~ Front Yard Maintenance. Friendly reminder, let's all do our best to keep our high-desert yards looking fresh. The board is trying to ride a healthy balance of community policing and compassion for those who are consistently trying their best to fight hot temps and continuous droughts. We encourage all of our neighbors to still maintain our minimum exterior standards by: pulling weeds, removing down tree branches and keeping your grass trimmed neatly.
~ Bear Activity. We have seen an uptick in bear activity in our area and are asking all Comstock Village homeowners to please safely store your garbage and wait until the morning of your garbage pickup to place your garbage and recycling curbside.
Warm Regards,
