Approved Paint Colors
Any changes in color to the base, trim, or outside doors to a Homeowner’s residence
must be submitted via Improvement Application to the CVHA Board Architectural
Committee for approval before painting with the changed color. Per Article VI, Section
7.5.e of the Covenants, only “earthtone” colors are permitted in Comstock Village; plain
white is NOT an approved color and has been voted down by Homeowners multiple
times since CVHA inception to be added as an “earthtone” color. The Sherman and
Williams colors posted on this web page are pre-approved by the CVHA Board. The
Board does not endorse the use of Sherman Williams paint; it is simply displaying the
paint chips for our Homeowners’ convenience to facilitate prompt Board approval of a
paint change Improvement Application. If a Homeowner chooses a color not on this
page, a physical paint color chip or stir stick with the paint on it must be submitted along
with their Improvement Application to the CVHA Board for consideration. Digital
pictures of colors will no longer be accepted as color and brightness settings on
computers can distort colors. Please allow extra time for the Board to review all paint
submissions. To be clear, paint colors submitted by email or electronically will not be
approved. (Note: The CVHA Administrator also maintains and lends out a color wheel
of the pre-approved house and trim colors should a Homeowner desire to
review/compare colors in daylight. Actual paint chips of the colors below can be also
acquired for free at any Sherwin Williams store.)
